How to Get Younger Looking Skin That Glows

How to Get Younger Looking Skin That Glows

There are so many anti-aging beauty products out there today

Thousands of anti-aging products promise that your skin will look years younger after using it, but you don’t need a medicine cabinet overflowing with these products to get that result. To create a good anti-aging regimen at any age, you just need to add a few new steps to your skincare routine.

Instead of filling your online shopping cart with products that may or may not work, read on to learn what we recommend for younger, healthier-looking skin.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Let’s start with the basics. For healthier skin, you should moisturize in the morning and at night. Moisturizers can create a barrier against environmental irritants that can dry out the skin.

When your skin is moisturized, it appears plumper, firmer, and more hydrated overall, which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dry skin shows lines and wrinkles more prominently than properly hydrated skin. When choosing a moisturizer, make sure you pick one that’s right for your skin type to see the best results (yes, even oily skin needs a moisturizer!).

Protect yourself from the sun

The sun is very bad for your skin. Even on days when it may not look sunny outside, the sun’s rays can damage your skin, which leads to more wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging.

The solution? Wear sunscreen every single day. Consistently using sunscreen can prevent aging, and a study by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery shows that sunscreen can also reverse existing signs of aging. It’s a win-win.

When it comes to choosing a sunscreen, look for one that is at least SPF 30 and is labeled “broad-spectrum,” meaning it protects your skin from the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. The UVB rays are the ones that burn your skin, and the UVA rays penetrate the deeper layers and cause wrinkles and age spots.

Apply it every single day as the last step in your morning skincare routine. We recommend using a moisturizer with built-in SPF for one less step, and if you’re going to be outside for a long period of time, reapply every two hours.

Start chemical exfoliation

The skin cells in your face regenerate every month. This means that fresh, new cells come up to the skin’s surface and the older cells flake off. Chemical exfoliation, with Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) or Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), can speed up that process, which means that newer, healthier-looking skin cells rise to the surface faster.

Get a serum that has one of those acids in it, and when adding the product to your skincare routine, start small. Use the product twice a week after your cleanser and toner. Then if your skin reacts well, you can try moving to every other night, then every day or twice a day.

Both AHAs and BHAs are great for anti-aging, so we recommend incorporating both acids into your routine. Just start by alternating the nights you use them to avoid any bad reactions between the two acids.

Another product you should consider adding to your routine? Retinol. While it’s not a chemical exfoliant like the AHAs and BHAs we mentioned above, retinol can increase your skin’s collagen production which leads to reduced wrinkles. It can also fade age spots or old acne scars.

When incorporating a retinol product into your routine, follow the steps above. Start small and then increase use once your skin adjusts to the new product and use it on nights when you aren’t using your AHAs or BHAs. If you’re going to use retinol in the day time, experts recommend that you always follow it with some form of SPF because it can make your skin sensitive to sunlight.

Don’t neglect your eyebrows!

If you’re going to great effort to get younger-looking skin, don’t forget to take care of your eyebrows. To do that, you’re going to need a great pair of tweezers. It’s easy to remove too many hairs at one time when tweezers lack precision, which can happen with many tweezers on the market.

Regine tweezers are made from the finest hardened, surgical-grade stainless steel and feature a precise 25-degree angled slant tip perfect for grooming eyebrows and working with delicate contours of the face. These precision instruments undergo a meticulous 40-step finishing process, with each tweezer going under microscope inspection to ensure perfect tip alignment and tension.

They are ideal for grabbing even the smallest and finest hair with ease or the thickest, deep-rooted stubborn hair. The tip is designed to easily grip and pull hair from the root every time, guaranteed.

Because Regine tweezers are made from hardened, surgical-grade stainless steel, they are rustproof. They will never need sharpening because Regine tempers their steel which is the process that hardens the metal, so they will never wear out, and they come with a lifetime guarantee.
